The Petrus method
First a corner block that grows to 2×2×3, then the edges get fixed, and the rest is solved with only R and U. Lars Petrus invented the method in 1981: with it he won the Swedish championship and finished fourth at the first world championship in 1982.

How to hold the cube
The diagrams have yellow on top, white on the bottom, red on the left and blue at the back. The block sits at the bottom back left, leaving the top and right faces free. Experienced solvers pick any of the eight corners.
Where this comes from
The plan comes from Lars Petrus's own pages and Cubing History. He shows the moves as animations, so the moves on the cards were found by search on a model cube and checked on it. The top-layer formulas are in SpeedCubeDB. Real cubers have not reviewed this section yet: if something is unclear, please tell us.
